Parent Coaching for Neurodivergent Families

Parenting a neurodivergent child can be deeply meaningful and at times, overwhelming. Many caregivers find themselves navigating complex emotions, school systems, and conflicting advice while trying to best support their child. Parent coaching offers a dedicated space to build confidence, reduce stress, and feel more grounded in your approach.

Madelyn Keefe specializes in working with parents of neurodivergent children, offering guidance that is strengths-based, affirming, and practical without pathologizing your child or your parenting.

Why Parent Coaching?

Traditional parenting advice often doesn’t take neurodivergence into account. What works for neurotypical children may not be effective and can sometimes increase stress, disconnection, or shame for both parent and child.

Parent coaching is designed to help you:

  • Better understand your child’s unique brain, needs, and behaviors

  • Respond to challenges with clarity rather than reactivity

  • Reduce power struggles and build stronger connection

  • Feel more confident in your parenting decisions

  • Navigate external pressures from schools, family, or society

This work is not about “fixing” your child, it’s about supporting your child in a way that honors who they are while also supporting you as the parent.

Areas of Support

Coaching is tailored to your family’s needs and may include:

  • Understanding ADHD, autism, sensory sensitivities, and emotional regulation

  • Navigating meltdowns, shutdowns, and behavioral challenges with compassion

  • Understanding nervous system functioning and interventions that support regulation

  • Building routines and structures that actually work for your child

  • Supporting executive functioning and independence

  • Reducing shame-based parenting patterns and increasing connection

  • Navigating school-related stress, including IEPs and 504 plans

  • Strengthening communication within the family

  • Processing your own emotions, stress, and burnout as a caregiver
